Spring into Bling: A Sneak Peak at our New Collection

Spring into Bling: A Sneak Peak at our New Collection

Finally, spring has sprung, Easter and Mom's day are around the corner, and we are ready to go with our new spring collection. In this blog we’ll give you a preview of what’s already made for the shop and what is yet to come.

Earrings: we have started making studs again and already have 10 pairs ready to go. We made several yellow gold studs this time, because it’s back in style and we love how many of our gems look with that added splash of gold color. We also prefer to set our softer gems, rather than sell them loose (saving you the risk). Among forthcoming beauties are Mexican fire opals, rhodochrosite and of course our favorite - Paraiba tourmaline. In addition to our own scroll and floral collections, we have added some three prong and six prong studs from Stuller, as well as leverbacks set with a single stone.

Dangly earrings are less popular in our shop but we love them nonetheless, so we are making a few pairs with channel wired gems such as pink topaz and green tourmaline.

I also sourced several pairs of fossilized wood matched pairs for more reasonably priced statement size earrings in padparadscha tones with matching Malaya garnets on top.

Necklaces: I just finished the layout for a Cecilia pendant which will be new to our shop. And for something more off the beaten path, I designed a more elaborate bail with accent stones for a large piece of chrysocolla with copper in quartz that caught my eye because of the rose and turquoise color combination. Of course one of the accent stones will be a Paraiba, the rest are TBA. (Ideas are always welcome).

I am also designing a two part pendant around one of Brett Kosnar’s gems, in platinum with diamonds. I cannot wait for that one. Here’s a preview in CAD:

Rings: there are two statement rings in the works so far, a snowflake ring (with Paraiba of course) and an Althea ring – we previously only had a pendant available. Althea now comes in engraved versions for you to order.

In addition to Althea, we also have Anastasia in a smaller size, fully engraved so you can make a ring or pendant with just four sidestones or without any at all.

And for those of you who prefer more dainty flavors, we are coming out with two new bezel set eternity styles, one for 1.8-2mm rounds (9 total) and one with alternating 4x2 marquis and 1.5-1.8mm rounds.

I’m also experimenting with new layouts using kites, tapered baguettes and hexagons, among others. I take my inspiration from 1920s and 30s jewelry but as you know, I prefer to do everything in technicolor. Below are the layouts I have so far, ideas are welcome as to what metal these should be in.

As always, we invite your comments. What metals do you prefer to see more of, which designs, which colors and gems? Although I love to just play around with my gems and let my fantasies run wild, it can be a lot easier to design with your tastes in mind, even if you are not exactly sure how something should look.

You will see us roll out our collection just as you are reading this blog, and we will keep it coming for as long as we have the momentum (and the funds, lol).
