Cobalt Blue Spinel 6x4mm Cushion Cut
This cobalt spinel is the largest I have (and among the largest I have seen). It is 5.78 x 4.28mm and very flat, so very spready. Cobalt blue spinel is named after its cobalt content. These are from Vietnam (Khah Ca - if I can read the back of the box correctly). This piece has some light inclusions.
And while you marvel at the astronomical per carat price of this gem, understand that cobalt spinel does not come in sizes larger than 1 carat. I've hardly ever even seen half carat sizes. It comes from only one region in the world and pieces like this are rarer than paraibas have ever been (though they are getting there). While at one time there was a good production of paraibas, there never has been good production of these, and when my supplier went this year, there was nothing.
Weight: .41 cts total

You have a two week inspection period with these gems, during which you can return them for a full refund, no questions asked. I can also make you a custom order. Custom orders are not refundable, which is why I suggest that you get the gem first and look at it. I can always do something with it afterwards. Or you can hire a local jeweler.
Please let me know if you'd like a certificate with these gems. I would take it to GEMLABS on 47th Street, but it adds a few days to shipping. A full certificate is $40 and a mini certificate is $20 (the latter will give you an identification and certifies lack of treatment). I'd bill you via paypal.
