Argentium Silver Fishtail Setting and Millgrain Ring with Purple Rhodolite Garnet
I'm all over antique style jewelry lately, and here is another design along those lines. This is a fishtail setting, mainly popular in the 1920s and 30s, set between the shanks of a 2mm lightly domed band with millgrain. The setting holds a 6mm gemstone. This casting is made in argentium silver. I can also do this ring in gold. The gem I chose for this particular ring is a Rhodolite Garnet (untreated), Portuguese cut, excellent quality. Nice and rich coloring, no window.
The ring is a tight size 5 but I can make it smaller for $10 and sizing takes about a week. I cannot make this ring larger, I'd have to just make a new ring from scratch (materials come in gold only, just the castings can be silver, so any new ring has to be made in gold).
